Have Yourself a Love-FestIt’s been a crazy busy week! (Thanks to all who attended the first Women’s Conscious Living MeetUp group! It was a great kickoff and I’m looking forward to lots more!)

You know how some weeks you just can’t get your crap together? That’s me. This week. I’ve accomplished a lot, but still feel like I can’t quite get my footing. I was a few days behind in getting rid of the donations from last month’s clutter clear but today I put a big ol’ tarp in the yard and unloaded it and let the locusts devour it all. (Thanks Craigslist!) I had about two grocery bags left when it was all said and done. (What? Nobody wants a pink styrofoam head? Weird…)

Today I had a great reminder on my coaching call and it’s something that I wanted to share because if you are not a coach, and particularly if you do not have a coach you may not hear this very often.

You have to take care of yourself. Above all else. Even if you are way behind on everything in your life and feel like you are drowning- take a step back, make a list of what you need to do, breathe and then do something for yourself.

Soak your feet.

Drink some hot tea.

Do a 15 minute yoga session. (I love me some Do You Yoga on YouTube for yoga quickies!)

Love yourself up.

If you are struggling in your life to make ends meet, take time to take care of yourself. It is the best investment you can make.

If you are struggling with happiness, take time to be kind to yourself.

If you are struggling with friendships, take time to be a friend to yourself.

If you are struggling in love, take time to love yourself.

You can meet your needs better than anybody else. When you find yourself blaming others for not being able to meet all of your needs (oh! I’ve been there!) realize that YOU are the answer to all your prayers! Others can’t be everything to you, no matter how much you want them to- no matter how much they love you! Only you can do that for yourself!

After all, my coaching call was about building a business and the SINGLE BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE  given was to take care of yourself because then and only then can you fully share your gifts with the world. Not the kind of business advice you get from a corporate entity, is it? But when you are building a business where your role is to be a leader, to inspire, challenge others and show how to live fully, it is imperative. Before any business building skills even matter. It’s about building a life, not just a business.

This quote sums it up perfectly

“I think one great tip is that you should always love yourself. If you don’t love yourself, take care of yourself, cater to yourself and that little inner voice, you will really not be very worthy of being with someone else, because you won’t be the best version of you.” -Kimora Lee Simmons

Ultimately that’s what we all want, isn’t it? To be the best version of ourselves? Because that ‘s a remarkable thing- we ALL have so much untapped potential it’s not even funny, and the planet needs a whole lot more of us realizing our greatness.

So that’s what I am going to focus on for February. Self-love. I’m going to do crazy nice things for myself all month long. (Watch out Valentine’s Day!) What do you say? Are you up for it? I double doggie dare you to join me!
